【#Vivien Yeo’s Beauty & Lifestyle】What methods did I use to resolve the various issues that arose after giving birth?

【#Vivien Yeo’s Beauty & Lifestyle】产后要面对的各种问题 我到底是怎样解决的呢?

Time flies, and now I am a mother of two children. It seems like I have experienced two pregnancies and deliveries in the blink of an eye and during the process, I faced many physical and psychological changes that gave me different feelings. In dealing with these postpartum problems, I would like to share some tips with everyone. I hope that expectant mothers or new mothers who have just become postpartum can feel a little more at ease after reading my sharing this time.

1. How should one regulate their body after childbirth?

There is a significant loss of blood during the process of childbirth, which puts a great burden on a woman's body. Therefore, after giving birth, it is essential to replenish the lost nutrients and regulate the body to speed up the recovery process. I believe that the most basic measure is to eat three balanced meals a day. As previously mentioned, childbirth can result in a large loss of blood, so mothers can consume more folate, which can help alleviate insulin resistance and anemia. Examples of foods that are high in folate include pork liver, spinach, lentils, avocados, and bananas. In addition, mothers need to consume sufficient calcium to maintain bone health and proper muscle function. I usually drink a glass of milk or soy milk for breakfast, and for lunch and dinner, I eat dishes that include tofu, sardines, and cheese. Iodine, iron, and vitamin D are also essential nutrients that can aid in the absorption of nutrients. Since everyone's physical condition is different, it is recommended to consult with one's family doctor for more accurate information.

2. Has there been any decline in memory function?

During my Chinese confinement period, my husband often remarked on my forgetfulness as I frequently forgot things and had to ask again later. At that time, I wondered if this was the power of 'one pregnancy makes you dumb for three years.' When I talked to my friends about their experiences with postpartum, they also shared similar situations. Afterwards, I did some research and found that there may be a correlation between decreased neurotransmitter levels during pregnancy and memory impairment. Memory function typically returns to normal after a certain period postpartum. If you feel that there is no change, it may be due to inadequate rest. When a baby is born, parents tend to worry and want to watch them every minute, leading to insufficient sleep and rest. This can cause a decrease in one's own attention, resulting in a deterioration of memory function. To improve, it is important to take advantage of any time to rest and relax one's nerves, such as doing simple stretching exercises or taking a hot bath. During the improvement process, I recommend writing a to-do list or recording your schedule on your phone to remind yourself, so as not to constantly bother others.

3.Postpartum emotions seem to be particularly unstable. Is it postpartum depression?

During the process of childbirth, hormonal changes and the stress of identity transformation can affect our emotions, and severe cases can lead to postpartum depression. Therefore, the mental and emotional state of mothers is worthy of attention. Many factors can affect one's emotions, such as the presence of depression symptoms before pregnancy, personality traits, family relationships, life stress, or past experiences. According to information provided by the Hong Kong Department of Health, postpartum emotional problems are generally divided into three categories: 1. Postpartum mood swings, 2. Postpartum depression, and 3. Postpartum psychosis. Most mothers experience emotional instability within a few days after childbirth, and further cases may develop into postpartum depression (affecting 13-19% of postpartum women), which can occur between 6 weeks to 1 year after childbirth. If your family members notice any emotional issues, do not be afraid. It is important to seek treatment early. The most severe stage is postpartum psychosis (affecting 0.1-0.5% of postpartum women), which may involve hallucinations or thoughts of self-harm, and may occur around 2 weeks after childbirth. If such symptoms occur, seek medical attention immediately. Fortunately, my unstable emotions after both of my childbirths did not last for a long time, and my family was very considerate and took good care of my emotional well-being. Sometimes, a hug can warm the heart of a postpartum mother. Therefore, those around us should not hesitate to show their care and concern.

4. Is there an issue of hair loss after giving birth?

Previously, I shared on social media that, like many mothers, I experienced postpartum hair loss. This is a natural phenomenon, so there is no need to worry. After giving birth, estrogen levels quickly decrease, causing hair follicles that were previously in the growth phase to suddenly enter a phase of regression or rest, resulting in hair loss. To improve hair loss, it is important to properly comb and wash your hair, which can improve blood circulation in the scalp and promote the growth of healthy hair. In addition, I frequently dye my hair but have not experienced significant hair loss and have continued to grow many baby hairs. This is due to my regular intake of CURVE UP+ COLLAGEN TRIPEPTIDE BEAUTY DRINKS and YUSAIKA ORGANIC DRIP CHICKEN ESSENCE, which provide sufficient nutrition and collagen for my hair and help promote hair growth, which is beneficial in improving postpartum hair loss issues!!
